We have always been a workplace filled with individuals coming from different age groups, educational institutions, specializations, and technologies. Over this period, we have onboarded the workforce from premier institutions and made them a part of our growth journey.
This ‘People of Sarvika’ publication is dedicated to four individuals from the same college who became part of the Sarvikan tribe during a recruitment drive we conducted two years ago.
We decided to have a conversation with these super cool ex-students who are now a part of our clan and understand what sort of experience they have obtained so far in their professional journey.
Q1. Could you share a bit about yourself?
Chitransha Bhardwaj: I joined Sarvika from RA Podar Institute, where they were one of the recruiters during our college placement drive. Despite having a year of experience as a Dot Net developer from an MNC, stepping into the professional setup brings its share of nervousness.
Sarvika Tech appeared to me as a process-oriented company, mirroring the workings of an MNC with industry-rated work ethics. Transitioning from a Management Trainee to a BA, I’ve been working with one of our oldest clients, an eCommerce giant and handling various tasks under my designation.
Tushar Duniwal: With an MBA in Marketing as my educational background, I prefer calling myself an “Artist” passionate about designing and using creative zeal to showcase my talent.
I joined Sarvika purely out of my enthusiasm for designing and witnessing how design contributes to a professional setup. I have been working as a UI/UX designer for about two years and am now involved with several projects where I work with a team of designers and use my creative abilities to their full potential.
Bhavna Punjabi: I have done my MBA in Finance and HR and initially aimed to join as an HR associate in Sarvika. However, fate had other plans as my communication and teamwork ability, which I worked on during my college days, led me to become a BA. The journey from a non-techie to a BA has been occupied with feedback, learnings, and growth which I would say has been my best career decision ever.
Saloni Mehta: I started my professional journey as a civil engineer and pursued further education in management, specializing in Finance and Marketing. Joining Sarvika marked a pivotal point in my career.Recognizing the diverse skill set I had acquired, I sought opportunities to apply my engineering and business knowledge holistically. My experience of 1.5 years here in Sarvika reinforced my belief that my multidisciplinary background is an asset in approaching business challenges from multiple angles.
Q2. Was there any challenge during the transition from college to the pragmatic IT sector?
Chitransha Bhardwaj: Entering the professional setup after finishing education is a different story. Academic knowledge often contributes little to your profession as challenges demand the best of hard and soft skills which sometimes don’t find place in your textbooks. As a newbie in BA, I received complete training and support from peers Jyotsana and Usha, who guided me through projects and work processes to enhance my profile and tackle everyday challenges.
Tushar Duniwal: Designing always excited me, and at Sarvika, I’ve honed my skills. So, the transition was seamless, and I never felt like I was doing anything different from what I have always loved: Creating visual delights. Also, special thanks to Mohit and Ritu who were very helpful from the beginning and allowed me time to adjust to the professional setup.
Bhavna Punjabi: From Finance background to now working as a BA has been a rollercoaster as I have learned everything from scratch. I have worked hard in learning on the job and regularly collaborating with people around me to improve my work abilities. The regular training opportunities have also contributed significantly to discovering areas for improvement, not only professionally, but personally to a greater extent.
Saloni Mehta:Transitioning from a college of engineering and management to the IT sector was an exciting yet challenging experience. One of the initial hurdles was technical complexity. Coming from a diverse background, adapting to the collaborative nature of IT projects, understanding team structures, and effectively contributing to group efforts required a shift in mindset. I actively sought mentorship within the company, and learning from Jyotsana, Usha and Harish provided me with valuable insights into teamwork, project collaboration, and the unwritten rules of the professional environment. Developing effective client communication skills, understanding business needs, and managing client expectations have been a learning curve for me as a BA.
Q3. How has your role at Sarvika Tech evolved till now at Sarvika Tech?
Chitransha Bhardwaj: From the first day to the present, I have been associated with one of Sarvika’s oldest clients. However, the evolving business and technology environment has greatly influenced my role and added core responsibilities, skills, and expectations that come with the BA profession. From working in cohesive collaboration with the product owners, developers, and a myriad of other stakeholders to grooming new joiners, I have added a lot of new skills to my arsenal.
Tushar Duniwal: My role as a UI/UX designer at Sarvika has evolved to a bigger extent from being an assistant to currently handling operations on my own. I have also acquired skills in technological advancements, new industry standards, and developments in UX/UI best practices to become better in my job and contribute to client expectations.
Bhavna Punjabi: I’ve exposed myself to various learnings in my journey at Sarvika as I have been associated with three different projects of altogether different industries. From Education to Healthcare to eCommerce, every project has come along with numerous learnings and exposure that have made me much better in my craft.
Saloni Mehta:My role has evolved from a non-techie who once decided to make a career in the construction industry to now managing different stores and resolving client issues. The cross-functional exposure with Devs and Designers enhanced my ability to bridge the gap between business needs, technical implementations, and user-centric solutions. A big thanks in part to the incredibly supportive environment fostered by my peers.
Q4. What aspect of the company culture do you find most appealing?
Chitransha Bhardwaj: Sarvika recognized my academic commitments during college and provided ample preparation time for exams, a rare practice in most organizations.
Tushar Duniwal: The emphasis on complete learning and grooming, with every new individual assigned a mentor, stands out. It creates a supportive environment for personal and professional growth.
Bhavna Punjabi: The Sarvika Clan goes beyond being just a Tech Company. Celebrating festivals and engaging in various activities like sports and music creates a close bond among us.
Saloni Mehta: I am fortunate to be part of a company that values the well-being of its people and sincerely grateful for the unwavering support and understanding extended to me during the mishap. Also, the Friday song culture is a bang at Sarvika.
Q5. What are your aspirations for your career in the coming years?
Chitransha Bhardwaj: I aim to delve deeper into Business Analysis and become a proficient Program Manager. Along with that, I also strive to become a guiding light for upcoming individuals and personally train them who were once on the same road which I have taken to become what I am today.
Tushar Duniwal: With new updates and technology in UI/UX, I aim to stay engaged in continuous learning and become an Interaction designer who can flawlessly understand user needs and create solutions on software, applications and smart devices.
Bhavna Punjabi: Despite covering a good distance in learning, there’s still a long run ahead. I aspire to work individually, managing all aspects with minimal support and understanding technical analysis thoroughly.
Saloni Mehta:As I look ahead, I am excited about the opportunities for growth and development in the dynamic field of business and data analysis. I aspire to deepen my expertise in advanced analytics techniques where continuous learning remains a cornerstone of my professional development. I envision myself as a trusted peer, contributing to the success and growth of Sarvika while continuing to evolve and adapt to the ever-evolving landscape of business analysis.
